Choosing cake tins for a professional kitchen

When you bake in volume, consistency matters more than any single feature. A rack of 24 cm sponges only bakes evenly if every tin has the same diameter, depth and wall. That's why we sell each tin in packs of identical units: order 12, 24 or 48 of one product and every piece matches the last, today and when you reorder.

Materials

  • Carbon steel with a non-stick coating: most of the range. It heats quickly, releases cleanly and suits sponges, bundts, loaf cakes and traybakes.
  • Aluminium: light, even-heating and often straight-sided, a classic choice for deep sponges and layer cakes.
  • Stainless steel rings: open cake and mousse rings in round, square, heart and flower shapes for assembled desserts, cheesecakes and plated pastry.

Shapes and sizes

The range runs from mini tins of around 10 to 15 cm up to 30 cm round pans and rectangular pans of 47 × 31 cm. You'll find round tins in the everyday 20, 22, 24 and 26 cm sizes; square tins for brownies and slices; rectangular pans for traybakes and sheet cakes; loaf tins for banana bread and pound cake; springform pans for cheesecakes; fluted bundt and ring moulds; tart and pie pans; muffin and mini muffin trays; and graduated sets for tiered cakes. Depth varies between models, so check the dimensions on each product page.

Who buys cake tins wholesale

Bakeries and pastry kitchens standardising production, cafés baking loaf cakes and muffins for the counter, hotel pastry sections, caterers, culinary schools fitting out a training kitchen, and retailers and gift shops building a bakeware shelf. Home bakers turning a hobby into a business often start with one 12-unit pack of their best-selling size.

Pack advice

Start with 12 units of the sizes you use every day, then move to 24 or 48 once you know your turnover. The unit price drops with every step, reaching up to about 20% below the 12-unit price on the 144 pack. For several sizes in one carton, or a quantity between our packs, request a quote. Care tips for a longer life

  • Hand wash non-stick tins in warm soapy water and dry them straight away.
  • Use silicone, wooden or nylon tools to protect the coating, and don't cut cakes inside the tin.
  • Grease and line where the recipe calls for it, especially for long, slow bakes.
  • Dry aluminium thoroughly and store tins nested with a sheet of paper between them.
